Treasure Mapping is a visual display that represents my goals and dreams for the coming New Year. The idea is to use magazines and other sources for visual images, special phrases, and anything else that appeals to you to provide you with a display that you can look at throughout the year as a daily reminder. This display can have colors to represent many things and in my case the color purple was chosen because to me it represents a color of spring and the new life that accompanies it. I don't think that is the technical meaning of that particular color choice, but it is my meaning. I used a 48" x 36" x-acto board for my display that I purchased at a Michael's craft store.
My display represents my overall goal of having my health improve so that I can pursue a variety of things. You will see images that represent an improvement in physical appearance whether it be by the way I dress, getting my smile fixed or just becoming very fit; an effort to get back into active cooking of healthy recipes; taking time for me to just read; the dream of buying a new truck (one we would be happy with and one that we would LOVE to own); the all important goal of saving dollars for retirement; the ongoing efforts at spiritual growth and the hope to be able to become more active in our church; the dream of being able to clean my house and maintain it clean according to my standards; the goal of making the back yard into a desert garden with benches and lovely plants; and the wonderful view of the road to be traveled into the lovely sun.
