Kira has been a part of our family since August 2001 and has adapted in very well. She is a quiet, easy-going girl. She prefers to spend her days on the pillow in our bedroom. At her age, we do not have any expectations of what she has to do with her days. She is a dear heart and very treasured by us. She starts off her morning going to both sides of the bed for a head scratch. She has become very fond of Steve because he has put a LOT of effort into helping her overcome her fear of men. She knows that he will give her a cookie every night after dinner and is very animated when it is time for her treat.
We highly recommend adopting a senior citizen dog because they do appreciate the love and attention. Kira has made our lives so much richer with her presence and the decision to adopt her has been repaid many times with our noting her progress. She came from such a traumatic life that every positive step that she makes is such an event. |
