Kira's Story
From Life as a Puppy Mill Bitch to that of a Cherished Pet
that will live out her life in lazy comfort in our home.
Welcome Home Kira!!

The Very first photo that I saw of Kira after she had been rescued along with many other cattle dogs in the raid on the puppy mill in California
Kira shortly after she arrived in Arizona to live with us.  She really hates having her picture taken.

August 2001
Kira with Deb, the wonderful lady who drove Kira the first part of her journey to her new home in Arizona.
The Final Part of Kira's Journey to Arizona was with us meeting Craig and Cathy in Blythe, California on a very HOT August afternoon in 2001.  Kira was stressed and exhausted by all the events in her life, but would NOT lie down on the trip to our home in Arizona.
Photo of Kira with Ivy and Julie when she was finally removed from the animal shelter in Hollister, California. Photo featured on my site  with permission of The Pinnacle .  These two ladies were tireless and sacrificed much in their efforts to save and rehabilitate all of the needy cattle dogs that were part of the horrific raid on the Hershey Puppy Mill that was run by Ken Hershey.  The raid was made in April 2001 and my Kira was estimated to be about 8 years old at that time.

She still hates the camera
Our Grand Old Matriarch Passed to the Rainbow Bridge in December 2004.  She is very missed.
